At the closing ceremony of the 1st Ninh Binh Provincial Party Congress (2025-2030 term), Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Dinh Thi Lua emphasized the goal of striving for Ninh Binh to become a centrally-governed city by 2030, a modern urban center that preserves its heritage identity.

According to the plan, the province will develop modern industries, high-quality tourism services, and green urban areas integrated with heritage, positioning itself among the nation’s leaders in growth rate and per capita income.

Following administrative boundary expansion, the new Ninh Binh province boasts a cultural wealth of over 5,000 inventoried relics, including 1,106 classified sites. Among these are 1 World Cultural and Natural Heritage site, 8 Special National Relics, 264 National Relics, and over 800 provincial-level relics.

Ninh Binh is blessed with unique advantages from nature and history, most notably the Trang An World Cultural and Natural Heritage site—often called the “Halong Bay on Land”—renowned for its picturesque landscapes.

Additionally, Ninh Binh is home to the ancient capital of Hoa Lu, the cradle of the Tran dynasty, the birthplace of the Mother Goddess worship, and the cultural imprint of the Dong Son civilization.

The province also hosts major religious centers of Vietnam, including Bai Dinh Pagoda, Tam Chuc Pagoda, Phat Diem Stone Church, and So Kien Cathedral. As the former capital, Ninh Binh marks the beginning of national independence under the Dinh, Early Le, Ly, and Tran dynasties.

During the 2020-2025 period, Ninh Binh achieved remarkable milestones. Tourism rebounded strongly, attracting over 18 million visitors, averaging nearly 10.4 million annually. The economy shifted toward industry and services, reaching 81.25% of GRDP by 2025. Total export turnover hit $70.8 billion, and social investment surpassed 654 trillion VND. The poverty rate dropped to 0.96%, among the nation’s lowest.
