The Suoi Cai Drainage Axis project in Ho Chi Minh City is accelerating its progress amidst unpredictable weather conditions, with a bustling construction site filled with vehicles, machinery, and dedicated workers.
On October 6th, Tien Phong reporters observed the project’s rapid development, despite the challenging weather, with workers tirelessly pushing forward.
The project aims to manage stormwater and wastewater for the former Binh Duong industrial hub, covering over 22,500 hectares, while enhancing the environment and urban development.
With an investment of nearly 6 trillion VND, the Suoi Cai Drainage Axis will serve the Southeast region upon completion, spanning approximately 20 kilometers.
Construction is currently focused on various packages, with workers reinforcing the bottom with rocks and widening the banks to 17 meters, featuring a 5-meter-wide drainage axis sidewalk and a 4.5-meter-wide rural sidewalk.
The project, stretching from Tho Ut Bridge to Dong Nai River, passes through Vinh Tan and Binh Duong wards, with a total investment of approximately 2,238 billion VND, divided into 10 construction packages, starting in 2024.
Upon completion, the project will manage water for over 22,500 hectares, including 3,200 hectares of industrial zones, and construct 37.4 kilometers of regional roads, creating a modern urban landscape with sidewalks and greenery.
The project is expected to complete segments in 2026 and be fully operational by 2027, featuring a reinforced concrete fence and galvanized steel railings along the drainage axis.
This vital infrastructure project will not only manage water but also enhance urban aesthetics, showcasing a harmonious blend of functionality and modern design.
The Suoi Cai Drainage Axis is a testament to Ho Chi Minh City’s commitment to sustainable urban development, ensuring a resilient and thriving environment for its residents and industries.
The project’s strategic location and comprehensive design will significantly contribute to the region’s economic growth and environmental sustainability.
As construction progresses, the Suoi Cai Drainage Axis promises to be a cornerstone of Ho Chi Minh City’s infrastructure, fostering a vibrant and sustainable urban environment.
The project’s completion will mark a significant milestone in the city’s efforts to combat flooding and promote sustainable development, ensuring a brighter future for generations to come.
With its innovative design and strategic implementation, the Suoi Cai Drainage Axis sets a new standard for urban infrastructure projects, inspiring similar initiatives across the region.
The project’s impact extends beyond flood control, fostering economic growth, environmental preservation, and a higher quality of life for the community.
