Alongside its popular vehicle lines, VinFast is gradually expanding into commercial vehicles such as electric buses and the upcoming compact electric van, the EC Van. Recently, social media users shared images of this model undergoing road tests.

The shared images reveal a vehicle resembling the VinFast EC Van, camouflaged with decals typically used during public road testing.

According to Nguyen Van Thanh, CEO of Xanh SM, the small electric cargo van segment targeted by the EC Van is considered a “gold mine.” Over the years, VinFast has focused on personal vehicles, electric buses, and service vehicles, leaving the urban electric cargo transport sector largely untapped.

This market has significant demand from e-commerce platforms, delivery services, and households, which require compact, low-operating-cost vehicles that comply with increasingly stringent urban environmental regulations.

The CEO of Xanh SM believes the VinFast EC Van will not only provide workers with a green livelihood tool but also contribute to building a sustainable transport ecosystem, where every small trip helps reduce emissions.

The first VinFast EC Vans are expected to be delivered starting November 2025. In addition to traditional dealership sales, Xanh SM will partner with VinFast to distribute and deploy delivery services using this model. This move is anticipated to broaden access to electric vehicles in daily life, reinforcing VinFast’s vision of “green vehicles for everyone.”

The VinFast EC Van is positioned as a compact, cost-effective, and eco-friendly transport solution, catering to short-haul cargo needs of small businesses, households, and delivery services. With a starting price of 285 million VND (including battery), the EC Van is an optimal cargo vehicle amid the growing shift toward electric mobility.

The EC Van features a compact design with dimensions of 3,767 x 1,680 x 1,790 mm and a wheelbase of 2,520 mm, enabling easy navigation through crowded streets and narrow village roads.

The cabin accommodates two seats, while the cargo area offers a capacity of 2,600 liters and a payload of over 600 kg. This balance between carrying capacity and maneuverability makes it ideal for individual businesses or rapid delivery services.

Powered by a 30kW (40.23 hp) electric motor with a maximum torque of 110Nm, the EC Van reaches a top speed of 75 km/h. Its 17kWh usable battery capacity provides a range of 150 km per full charge. Using a 19.4kW DC fast charger, the battery can be charged from 10% to 70% in approximately 42 minutes. Alternatively, overnight charging is possible with a 3kW portable charger.

Safety features include front disc brakes, rear drum brakes, ABS, EBD, TCS traction control, and an ESS emergency brake warning system.
