On October 6-10, the Investigation Police Agency of Gia Lai Province initiated legal proceedings and detained Mr. Tran Xuan Ngoc (born in 1960), former Director of Pleiku 2 Agency under Dai-Ichi Life Vietnam Insurance Company, on charges of “Embezzlement” and “Breach of Trust to Appropriate Property.”

Mr. Tran Xuan Ngoc was prosecuted and detained for “embezzlement” and “breach of trust to appropriate property” during his tenure as Director of Pleiku 2 Agency – Dai-Ichi Life Vietnam Insurance Company.
Mr. Ngoc resigned from his position in 2023.
According to preliminary investigation results, during his employment at Pleiku 2 Agency, Mr. Tran Xuan Ngoc exploited his role to embezzle approximately VND 40 million from Dai-Ichi Life Vietnam Insurance Company. This amount was paid by customers as insurance premiums through Mr. Ngoc. However, instead of depositing it into the company’s account, he used it for personal expenses.
Additionally, Mr. Tran Xuan Ngoc faces accusations from locals of leveraging his position as Director of Pleiku 2 Agency – Dai-Ichi Life Vietnam Insurance Company to gain trust, mobilize funds from multiple individuals for investment purposes, and subsequently misappropriate the money. The exact amount is still under investigation by the police.
