According to the issued decision, the project will involve the construction of a cargo terminal, along with its equipment systems, auxiliary facilities, and synchronized technical infrastructure, designed to handle approximately 550,000 tons of cargo annually.
The project will be implemented in the C-01 area of Long Thanh International Airport, with construction scheduled from 2025 to 2026. The operational period of the project will extend until December 31, 2050.

Meanwhile, VAECO (a subsidiary of Vietnam Airlines) is accelerating the progress of Aircraft Maintenance Project No. 1, aiming to complete the main construction by December 19, 2025, and fully operationalize the project by June 30, 2026.
During a recent inspection at Long Thanh Airport, Chairman of Vietnam Airlines Dang Ngoc Hoa reviewed the progress of aircraft maintenance projects. He noted that the hangar foundation is approximately 90% complete, and the Backshop area is around 50% complete. Despite minor delays due to weather and construction conditions, the project remains on track to meet its targets.
In parallel, Aircraft Maintenance Project No. 2 has signed contracts and completed land preparation. VAECO plans to finalize land procedures by November 15, 2025, approve the master plan by December 9, 2025, complete the basic design by January 23, 2026, and officially commence investment in 2026.
