Wuling Unveils New Mini Electric Vehicle Rivaling Mini EV: 220km Range on a Single Charge, Modern Features Aimed at Captivating Youth

China’s automotive market has faced intense competition for consecutive years. Alongside emerging brands being phased out, many established brands are also on the brink of bankruptcy. Consequently, automakers continue to launch new models to capture market share.

According to CNC, Wuling is expanding into the premium segment in China by introducing a new brand named Aishang, targeting young consumers. The first model under this brand, the A100C, a mini electric hatchback, has officially entered production and is slated for market launch in October 2025.

The Aishang A100C is designed as a two-door, four-seater electric vehicle, boasting a compact and adorable aesthetic—a style currently trending in the urban mini car segment.

The vehicle stands out with its black pillars, aerodynamic wheel arches, prominent front air intakes, and rounded, slanted headlights that resemble a “furrowed brow.” Additionally, the A100C features traditional door handles and a charging port cover located on the right front fender. The wheels are adorned with a cross-pattern design.

In terms of dimensions, the A100C measures 3,285 mm in length, 1,708 mm in width, 1,550 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 1,980 mm. Compared to the 2025 Wuling Mini EV, it is 29 mm longer, 130 mm wider, but 28 mm lower.

The Aishang A100C is equipped with a rear-axle electric motor delivering a maximum output of 35 kW (51 hp) and peak torque of 83 Nm. It utilizes a 17.65 kWh LFP battery produced by Gotion, offering a range of approximately 220 km under China’s CLTC testing standards.

The vehicle’s performance is assured by its China Top Ten Chassis Award, marking the first time a car in this segment has won in this category. Its safety features are further enhanced by a high-strength steel frame surrounding the body, designed to absorb impact from all directions.

Additionally, the A100C features electric power steering with a speed-sensitive EPS system. Its braking system employs electronic hydraulic braking (EHB) technology, providing shorter stopping distances compared to competitors.

According to Wang Zhiqiang, Deputy General Manager of Wuling, demand for compact cars in China surged by 63% in the first half of 2025, with over 425,000 units sold. He emphasized this as a strategic opportunity for Wuling to deepen its penetration into the affordable passenger car market with a competitively priced new offering.

The A100C electric hatchback is scheduled for its official launch in October 2025, with pricing details yet to be announced. With its youthful design, modern features, and urban-friendly range, the model is poised to become a compelling choice for Chinese consumers, particularly young buyers seeking a compact, economical, yet stylish mode of transportation.
