In the international market, spot gold prices surged by over 60 USD per ounce today, setting a new record high of 3,950 USD per ounce.
According to Kitco News’ weekly gold survey, Wall Street analysts maintain a strong bullish sentiment following an impressive trading week, while individual investors are increasingly confident in the precious metal’s upward trajectory this week. Many experts predict gold will soon reach the 4,000 USD per ounce milestone in the near term. Marc Chandler, CEO of Bannockburn Global Forex, commented: “Gold prices have risen for seven consecutive weeks, with only one week of decline since late July. The risk of a U.S. government shutdown, Europe’s consideration of repurposing frozen Russian assets, and escalating tensions in Europe are bolstering positive sentiment toward gold.”
He added, “A short-term support level has formed around 3,800 USD per ounce. The 4,000 USD mark no longer seems out of reach.”
Echoing this view, Darin Newsom, senior analyst at Barchart.com, stated succinctly: “Prices will rise. The situation in the U.S. is worsening, not improving. Global central banks and investors recognize this and continue to buy gold.”
