Upcoming 750 Billion VND Hospital in Hanoi: A 6,300m² Healthcare Hub

On the morning of October 7th, the Hanoi People’s Committee held the groundbreaking ceremony for the Hanoi Kidney Hospital Branch 2 project. This is one of the capital’s key projects for the 2021–2025 period and a meaningful activity to celebrate the 71st anniversary of Hanoi’s Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 – October 10, 2025). The ceremony was attended by Vice Chairwoman of the Hanoi People’s Committee, Vu Thu Ha, along with representatives from relevant departments, agencies, and localities.

The Hanoi Kidney Hospital Branch 2 project is located in Duong Noi Ward, Ha Dong District, with a total investment of approximately VND 748 billion from the city’s budget. The facility spans an area of 6,355 square meters, featuring a main building ranging from 2 to 8 floors, one basement level, and a capacity of 250 beds. It also includes synchronized technical infrastructure and auxiliary facilities such as a transformer station, backup generator, wastewater treatment plant, medical gas station, parking area, internal roads, and greenery. The hospital will be equipped with modern medical devices to meet the needs of both inpatient and outpatient care in Nephrology and Urology for residents of Hanoi and surrounding areas. Completion is expected by 2026.

Once operational, Branch 2 will not only alleviate the burden on the main facility but also enhance access to high-quality healthcare services for the public. This underscores Hanoi’s commitment to strengthening its healthcare system to meet the growing health needs of its residents.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman Vu Thu Ha emphasized that the project reflects the city’s political determination to implement the resolutions of the 17th Party Congress, Resolution No. 15-NQ/TW of the Politburo, and Program No. 08-CTr/TU of the Hanoi Party Committee. These aim to develop the social security system and improve the well-being and quality of life for residents during the 2021–2025 period. She affirmed that Hanoi considers health as the most valuable asset of its citizens and the foundation for sustainable development.

As such, the city is focusing on mobilizing resources to invest in healthcare, strengthening the hospital network and medical facilities to provide better and more comprehensive services to its residents.

The Vice Chairwoman also acknowledged and commended the investor and relevant units for their efforts in completing the procedures to ensure the project’s timely commencement, coinciding with the 71st anniversary of Hanoi’s Liberation Day—a significant milestone for the city’s residents.

Representing the Hanoi Civil Construction Project Management Board, Deputy Director Nguyen Ngoc Tuong stated that the contractors are committed to executing the project on schedule, ensuring quality, safety, cost-efficiency, and strict compliance with environmental protection, security, and labor safety regulations.

The groundbreaking of Hanoi Kidney Hospital Branch 2 is a concrete step in the city’s healthcare development strategy and highlights its humanitarian vision for public health.

Upon completion, the hospital will become a cornerstone of Hanoi’s modern healthcare network, contributing to improved living standards and reinforcing the city’s commitment to building a livable environment where every resident receives comprehensive care and health protection.

On the same day, the Hanoi People’s Committee also launched the construction of the Le Hong Phong Cadre Training School and the Lu River Embankment System to commemorate the 71st anniversary of Hanoi’s Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 – October 10, 2025).
