The event marks a strategic leap in enhancing air logistics connectivity and solidifying Vietnam’s position on the global supply chain map.
During FWC 2025, the Vietnam SuperPort™ booth had the honor of welcoming FIATA Chairman Turgut Erkeskin and representatives from leading global associations and businesses. Here, Dr. Yap Kwong Weng, CEO of Vietnam SuperPort™, introduced the Extended Air Cargo Terminal (OACT) to the delegates—a strategic link in the multimodal supply chain set to launch soon.

The Largest Integrated Extended Air Cargo Terminal in the Region
Strategically located on the Northern Economic Corridor, OACT connects over 20 industrial zones with major seaports and airports such as Noi Bai, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, and extends to Yunnan and Kunming (China). It not only facilitates the flow of goods between Vietnam and the China-ASEAN region but also directly links with international airlines and key markets like the US, Europe, and Asia.
Notably, OACT is one of the first extended air cargo terminals in Vietnam to fully integrate functions as an “off-airport cargo terminal,” including customs clearance, security screening, storage, ULD handling, and airport transportation. Goods are processed under strict security protocols monitored by 24/7 CCTV, aviation security, and customs from receipt to aircraft loading. With a total area of over 11,000 m² and a handling capacity of approximately 50,000 tons/year, OACT is equipped with modern infrastructure meeting international standards. It can handle large volumes of goods from businesses and carriers in demanding markets like the US and Europe.

Dr. Yap Kwong Weng, CEO of Vietnam SuperPortâ„¢, introduces the Extended Air Cargo Terminal at the event.
According to Dr. Yap Kwong Weng, OACT is a critical component of the Vietnam SuperPortâ„¢ Multimodal Logistics Center, developed under the “Park within a Park” model. It integrates all transportation modes—rail, road, sea, and air—into a single hub. This allows businesses to flexibly switch transportation methods, optimizing time and costs.
Alongside connectivity and operations, Vietnam SuperPortâ„¢ plans to develop OACT into a modern, smart cargo terminal leveraging advanced technologies like AI and Robotics. Vietnam SuperPortâ„¢ has partnered with Google and Kyndryl to develop next-generation AI for security screening to detect prohibited and hazardous items. AI is also used for automated document verification to enhance safety and security.
Additionally, with support from Singapore’s Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Vietnam SuperPortâ„¢ is researching Autonomous Guided Vehicles (AGV), Robot Loaders, and Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR) to automate warehouse operations. This is expected to increase productivity by 35% while reducing errors by 50%.
A Key to Regional Connectivity and Enhanced Adaptability
Long-term, OACT aims for full digitalization, creating an integrated logistics platform. Businesses can track, manage, and book services online—from customs declarations to electronic payments. This is a crucial step toward building a fully digitalized air supply chain, connecting Vietnam to ASEAN’s smart logistics network and the global market.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Robert Yap, Executive Chairman of YCH Group, shared: “Vietnam SuperPortâ„¢ reflects the shared vision of YCH Group and T&T Group to create a smarter, greener, and more connected supply chain for the region. OACT is not just a logistics infrastructure but a catalyst for Vietnam’s role as a trade and innovation hub in ASEAN and globally.”
With the development motto “Connect – Smart – Sustainable,” OACT serves as a strategic bridge, enhancing integration, optimizing logistics costs, and expanding international trade opportunities for Vietnamese businesses.

The OACT model offers significant competitive advantages for exporters and the entire air logistics chain, improving service quality, reducing congestion at airport cargo terminals, and streamlining operations.
“OACT is more than an extended air cargo terminal—it symbolizes Vietnam’s vision for smart and sustainable connectivity. We aim to build a next-generation logistics hub where technology, infrastructure, and people drive global trade,” emphasized the CEO of Vietnam SuperPortâ„¢.
Previously, at the Vietnam International Innovation Expo 2025 (VIIE 2025), Vietnam SuperPortâ„¢ impressed with its cutting-edge solutions to enhance logistics efficiency, positioning Vietnam as a strategic link in the global supply chain.
The upcoming launch of OACT underscores Vietnam SuperPortâ„¢’s strategic vision to digitize logistics, creating a smart, efficient, and sustainable ecosystem for Vietnam and the region.
