Real Estate Firm Holding Vingroup Shares Worth $1.9 Billion Sees Unexpected Development

VMI Real Estate Investment and Management Joint Stock Company was established on September 19, 2022, with a chartered capital of 18 trillion VND. The company’s ownership structure includes Phạm Nhật Vượng, holding 90% of the capital, Phạm Thu Hương with 5%, and Vinhomes with the remaining 5%.

According to the business registration update on September 5, 2025, VMI Real Estate Management and Investment Joint Stock Company has been renamed Hung Long Real Estate Management and Investment Joint Stock Company.

Mr. Phan Thanh Long remains the CEO and legal representative of the company. The headquarters is located at Symphony Office Building, Chu Huy Man Street, Vinhomes Riverside Urban Area, Phuc Loi Ward, Hanoi.

VMI Real Estate Management and Investment JSC was established on September 19, 2022, with a charter capital of VND 18,000 billion. Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong owns 90% of the charter capital, Mrs. Pham Thu Huong owns 5%, and Vinhomes holds the remaining 5%.

In 2023, Vinhomes transferred its entire investment in VMI to a partner.

Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong contributed capital to VMI JSC with over 243 million VIC shares, equivalent to VND 16,200 billion based on the average market price over 50 sessions as of September 13, 2022.

Currently, Hung Long/VMI is the third-largest shareholder of Vingroup, following billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong and Vietnam Investment Group JSC, holding VIC shares worth nearly VND 44,000 billion.

VMI operates by investing in a certain number of existing or future real estate properties of Vinhomes. The value of these properties is then divided into multiple investment units, each called a Fantasy Home investment unit.

VMI’s clients invest in these units through business cooperation contracts. Investors partnering with VMI JSC receive certification of property rights and share in the profits generated from these assets proportionally to their investment.

According to the company’s website, VMI is involved in investing in projects such as Vinhomes Ocean Park 3 – The Crown (Hung Yen), Vinhomes Ocean Park, and Vinhomes Smart City.
