According to Tien Phong’s report, flooding began on October 7th as the aftermath of Typhoon No. 11 brought heavy rainfall across the region.

By noon on October 9th, the entire Qua Cam village remained deeply submerged, with only rooftops visible. Internal roads were completely flooded, and electricity had to be cut off for safety reasons.

“The water rose rapidly on the night of October 7th, flooding our yard within hours. Since then, we’ve been living on the second floor, relying entirely on boats for daily activities,” said Mr. Nguyen V.L.

Current water levels in the village remain high, ranging between 1 to 2 meters.

Many once-proud homes with gleaming tiled walls, a hallmark of Kinh Bac’s prosperity, now stand half-submerged. Murky water filled with debris and algae drifts beneath. From above, Qua Cam resembles a tiny island adrift in an endless sea.

By midday on October 9th, despite clear skies, floodwaters persisted. Residents navigated aluminum and plastic boats across the water, delivering meals, bread, and clean water to families trapped in the inundated area.

Several households have temporarily relocated to relatives’ homes or the local community center.

According to authorities, heavy rainfall caused by Typhoons No. 10 and No. 11 led to rising water levels in the Cau and Thuong rivers, resulting in severe flooding across many riverside areas in Bac Ninh province.
