Authorities seize a large quantity of sausages with unclear origins.
On October 9th, Team 4 of the Economic Police Department, Hanoi City Police, in collaboration with Team 14 of the Market Management Department, inspected a warehouse located at Alley 16, Do Xuan Hop Street, Tu Liem District, Hanoi.
During the inspection, authorities discovered nearly 1.7 tons of sausages packaged in plastic bags with foreign labels, lacking Vietnamese supplementary labels and food safety inspection documents.
The estimated value of the seized goods exceeds 120 million VND.
More alarmingly, these sausages are a primary ingredient in the popular street food “grilled sausages on stone,” which attracts many consumers, especially young people, due to its extremely low price.
The owner of the goods, P.T.S (born in 1980, residing in Yen Hoa Ward, Hanoi), admitted to purchasing the products through social media and distributing them in Hanoi and neighboring provinces via the same platform.

Foreign language labels are visible on the packaging.
The authorities have temporarily seized all the non-compliant food products for further legal processing.
The Hanoi City Police stated that this incident serves as a stark reminder of food safety concerns, particularly among small businesses and street food vendors.
“Using ingredients with unclear origins and without quality assurance can directly impact consumer health,” shared an officer from Team 4, Economic Police Department.
The case is currently under investigation and will be handled according to the law.
