HONOR has officially launched the Magic V5 in Vietnam, offering a new premium foldable smartphone option for local users. According to the brand’s representative, the Magic V3 made a strong impression upon its release, with thousands of units sold. HONOR anticipates that the Magic V5 will achieve several times higher sales figures.
With a thickness of just 4.1mm in the Moonlit White variant, the HONOR Magic V5 is currently the world’s thinnest foldable smartphone. It has also earned a Guinness World Record for its ability to withstand a load of up to 104kg.
The Magic V5 features a next-gen Silicon–Carbon battery with a 5,820mAh capacity, ensuring extended usage without adding bulk. Ahead of its launch, HONOR even offered a promotional power bank to users of foldable phones with lower battery capacities—a clever marketing move to highlight its superior battery life.
Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and HONOR’s E2 energy management technology, the device delivers robust performance, efficient thermal control, and long-lasting operation. Despite its ultra-slim 8.8mm profile, it boasts IP58/IP59 water and dust resistance and is protected by a Nano Crystal Shield for enhanced scratch and impact resistance.
In terms of display, the Magic V5 features a 6.43-inch outer screen and a 7.95-inch main screen, both utilizing LTPO OLED technology. They achieve a peak brightness of 5,000 nits and a 120Hz refresh rate. HONOR has also integrated 4,320Hz PWM dimming to reduce eye strain and a motion sickness reduction feature for improved comfort during travel. Multitasking, split-screen, and drag-and-drop functions are optimized, making the Magic V5 ideal for both work and entertainment.
Another standout feature is the AI Deepfake Detection, which identifies manipulated images and voice recordings in just three seconds, directly within popular apps like Messenger, Zalo, Viber, and Google Meet. Combined with MagicOS 9.0.1, the Magic V5 offers advanced AI capabilities such as AI Translation, AI Notes, AI Object Eraser, and AI Super Zoom, catering to both productivity and creative needs.
The HONOR Magic V5 is available in four colors: Dawn Gold, Moonlit White, Dunhuang Red, and Midnight Black, priced at 44.99 million VND. For comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold7 is priced at 42.99 million VND for the 256GB version and 46.99 million VND for the 512GB version.
Customers purchasing between October 11 and October 31, 2025 will receive a HONOR Magic Pen, a 2 million VND upgrade discount, 0% installment plan, and the Premium Care+ package, which includes a 6-month 1-for-1 replacement, 24-month warranty, and 12-month screen breakage insurance.
