The Hanoi City Police have released an official statement regarding the devastating fire that claimed five lives early this morning, October 11th.
At approximately 5:36 AM on October 11th, a severe fire broke out at house number 9, alley 12, lane 17, 180 Kim Hoa Street (Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam Ward, Hanoi). The blaze started fiercely on the ground floor and rapidly spread to the upper levels, engulfing the entire four-story house with a rooftop, covering an area of about 25m².
Upon receiving the report, the Hanoi City Police Command Center dispatched four fire trucks and over 30 officers and firefighters from the Fire Prevention and Rescue Teams of Districts 9 and 10 to the scene. Due to the house’s location deep within a narrow alley, approximately 300 meters from the main road, and the presence of toxic smoke, rescue and firefighting efforts faced significant challenges.
The Fire Prevention and Rescue Team utilized specialized breathing apparatus to conduct search and rescue operations, while multiple teams advanced into the burning area to control the fire and prevent it from spreading to neighboring houses.

By 6:00 AM, authorities had successfully contained the fire, preventing it from spreading to nearby homes. The blaze was completely extinguished by 6:15 AM.
During the search and rescue efforts, authorities discovered five fatalities inside the house, including three adults and two children: N.D.L (born 1952), H.T.H (born 1956), N.H.M (born 1982), D.T.S (born 1988), and N.M.V (born 2019).
