Insights from major retail systems such as Dien May Xanh, Nguyen Kim, and Cho Lon reveal that the electronics market is entering its most significant price reduction phase in years, particularly for air conditioners and washing machines. Due to abundant inventory and sluggish sales, retailers are forced to slash prices aggressively to stimulate demand and clear stock before the arrival of 2026 models.
Air Conditioners See Deep Discounts, Many Models Below 4 Million VND
The air conditioner market is witnessing unprecedented discounts, with price cuts ranging from 20% to 50%. Many 1 HP units now cost between 3.9 and 5 million VND, significantly lower than earlier this year.
For instance, the Carrier 1 HP model at Cho Lon Electronics is discounted by 56%, now priced at 4.99 million VND; Hisense 1 HP is down 47% to 3.99 million VND; and Samsung Inverter 1 HP has dropped from 10.9 million VND to 7.6 million VND.
At Dien May Xanh, numerous products are also deeply discounted, including Nagakawa 1 HP at 5.29 million VND (39% off), Midea 1 HP at 4.9 million VND (41% off), and TCL 1 HP from 8 million VND to 5.9 million VND.
According to a representative from a major retailer in Ho Chi Minh City, these steep discounts aim to clear inventory levels, which are 30% to 50% higher than the same period last year. The primary cause is weak consumer demand since Q2, driven by mild weather and rising living costs. “If we don’t clear stock soon, next year’s new models will be even harder to sell,” the representative noted.

Washing Machines See Discounts of Up to 10 Million VND
Washing machines are also experiencing record price drops. High-end models are discounted by up to 10 million VND, while mid-range units are reduced by 20% to 50% to attract year-end buyers.
At Cho Lon, the Hitachi 9.5 kg model is down from 11 million VND to 4.9 million VND, Toshiba 10.5 kg from 12 million VND to 6.9 million VND, and Electrolux 10 kg from 11.5 million VND to 6.9 million VND.
At Dien May Xanh, the Samsung 10 kg model has dropped from 15.5 million VND to 10.4 million VND, while the Aqua 9.8 kg model is now 5.3 million VND, down from 8.2 million VND.
Notably, LG Inverter 15 kg models have fallen from 25 million VND to around 14 million VND, Electrolux 10 kg models are down nearly 9 million VND to 13 million VND, and Samsung 12 kg models have dropped over 7 million VND to 10 million VND.

A representative from a leading retail chain explained that these discounts aim to clear older models before the arrival of 2026 stock in Q4. Additionally, fierce competition among brands, particularly from China and Thailand, is driving prices down in Vietnam. “Budget brands are rapidly expanding market share, forcing major brands to reduce prices to retain customers,” the representative added.
