On October 13th, Ho Chi Minh City Police announced the arrest and prosecution of Vo Thi Ngoc Ngan (known as Ngan 98) for producing and trading counterfeit food products.

Ngan 98 is the operator of ZuBu Trading and Service Co., Ltd. and ZuBu Shop Business Household.

Investigations revealed that Vo Thi Ngoc Ngan established and managed ZuBu Company (registered under her mother T.T.T.’s name as director) and ZuBu Shop Business Household (registered under M.T.V.’s name).

Ho Chi Minh City and Ministry of Health Previously Investigated

Earlier, in June 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City Food Safety Department inspected and verified the production, distribution, and advertising of weight loss products endorsed by DJ Ngan 98 (X1000, Super Detox X3, X7 Plus).

Initial verification found that distributors like ZuBu Trading and Service Co., Ltd. and Ngan 98 Trading and Service Co., Ltd. had ceased operations, were no longer at their registered addresses, and were unreachable.

Consequently, the Ho Chi Minh City Food Safety Department could not confirm whether these products were still on the market.

Shortly after, the Ministry of Health’s specialized agency requested the Domestic Market Management and Development Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), local market management departments, health departments, food safety departments, and food safety management boards to urgently inspect, review, and sample products in the market. They were also instructed to handle violations, if any, according to regulations.

Additionally, the Food Safety Department (Ministry of Health) advised consumers against purchasing or using the products X1000, Super Detox X3, and X7 Plus (manufactured by Nano Tesla High-Tech Pharmaceutical Production Company, located in Dan Phuong Industrial Zone, Hanoi) until authorities completed their inspections to ensure consumer health and food safety.

Ngan 98 and the weight loss products she marketed

Ngan 98 Previously Claimed “Compliance with Regulations”

Regarding these weight loss products, Ngan 98 repeatedly asserted that the products she endorsed were thoroughly tested and guaranteed quality for consumers. She even claimed to have conducted cross-checks herself.

She argued that accusations and defamation against her and the products she endorsed were signs of unfair competition. She filed complaints with authorities to protect her business and consumer rights.

“X7 Plus Herbal Pills, Super Detox X3 Herbal Pills, and X1000 Herbal Pills are products developed in compliance with regulations,” Ngan 98 stated in a video.

She denied allegations that the products she sold contained banned substances.

At the time, many questioned why, if the products were truly compliant, ZuBu Trading and Service Co., Ltd., responsible for the products, had closed and suspended operations.

On May 22, 2025, on her fan page with 2.2 million followers, DJ Ngan 98 announced she had met with the Ho Chi Minh City Food Safety Department.

In her post, Ngan 98 included a photo of herself standing in front of the department holding three weight loss products, with the caption: “Everything will be clarified. Ngan will update you all with a video, so stay tuned.”

Her post received significant engagement on social media. Many supporters praised her efforts to prove the products’ quality.
