iPhone 15: Another Price Hike on the Horizon

Since the iPhone 17 series officially launched in Vietnam, the iPhone 15 has seen two price increases.

The official retail price of the iPhone 15 in Vietnam has seen another increase. Compared to early October, the device has risen by 1 million VND, now priced at 16.99 million VND for the 128 GB model and 20.9 million VND for the 256 GB variant. This marks a significant jump from late August, when older iPhone models hit their lowest prices in Vietnam—a 1.7 million VND increase for the 128 GB version and 2.5 million VND for the 256 GB version.

A survey across major retailers reveals that the iPhone 15 is readily available in all colors, with strong sales performance. The price hike is attributed to fluctuating exchange rates and increased demand, prompting retailers to adjust their pricing strategies.

The iPhone 15 isn’t the only model affected; most older iPhone series still available in Vietnam have also seen price increases in October. For instance, the iPhone 16 series has experienced a similar trend, alongside a notable surge in sales compared to the low-demand period from June to late August.

While some customers waited until September or October to upgrade to the latest premium iPhone, many others anticipated price drops for older models. However, this strategy has proven unsuccessful, as prices for most older models have risen instead.

Industry experts predict that domestic demand for new iPhones will remain high through the end of the year. Apple’s decision to discontinue models like the iPhone 11, 12, and 14 further solidifies the iPhone 15’s position as a top choice in the mid-range segment.

Despite its 2023 release, the iPhone 15 remains a compelling option for many. Its sleek design, vibrant color options, and powerful specifications—including the Apple A16 Bionic chip, 6 GB RAM, and 128 GB storage—make it a versatile device capable of handling all essential tasks.

The iPhone 15 features a 6.1-inch OLED display with a peak brightness of 2,000 nits, a dual-camera setup (48 MP + 12 MP), and a 12 MP selfie camera. At launch, the base model was priced at 22.99 million VND.
