On October 15th, General Secretary To Lam received Mr. Eric Hambly, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Murphy Oil Corporation.

General Secretary To Lam affirmed Vietnam’s commitment to its relationship with the United States, expressing a desire to further strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two nations. He highlighted energy cooperation as a key pillar of this partnership, benefiting businesses, citizens, and regional stability.

Outlining Vietnam’s energy vision and strategy for 2030 and 2045, which prioritizes energy security, resource efficiency, environmental protection, and climate change mitigation, General Secretary To Lam emphasized Vietnam’s vast potential, particularly within the oil and gas sector.

He assured continued support for foreign investment in Vietnam’s energy sector, particularly from the United States. He urged Murphy Oil to accelerate its oil and gas projects in Vietnam, emphasizing technology transfer, knowledge sharing, and high-quality workforce development to contribute to Vietnam’s growth and the Vietnam-US relationship.

Mr. Eric Hambly expressed gratitude for the support from Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade and PetroVietnam throughout Murphy Oil’s operations in Vietnam. He reaffirmed Vietnam’s strategic importance to the company and pledged increased investment in the coming years.
