As previously reported by Tiền Phong, a plot of land within the Long Vân New Urban Area project is being illegally occupied by individuals for use as a parking lot, vehicle repair area, and storage for goods and equipment.
The Long Vân New Urban Area is planned to become a new development hub, contributing to the transformation of Quy Nhơn City, formerly in Bình Định Province (now part of Quy Nhơn Bắc Ward, Gia Lai Province). The land, managed by the Provincial Land Development Center, is currently undergoing land clearance.
Mr. Nguyễn Thái Diễn, Chairman of Quy Nhơn Bắc Ward People’s Committee, stated that following media reports, the authorities inspected the site and identified six cases of land encroachment.
On October 15, Deputy Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People’s Committee, Mr. Nguyễn Hữu Quế, conducted an on-site inspection.
Following the inspection, he directed the Quy Nhơn Bắc Ward People’s Committee to collaborate with the Provincial Land Development Center and relevant agencies to engage with the occupying households, urging them to promptly remove temporary structures, machinery, and equipment from the project’s cleared area.
In cases where households refuse to comply, the Quy Nhơn Bắc Ward People’s Committee, in coordination with relevant agencies, will review and finalize documentation to enforce legal measures, including forced removal and demolition. The cleared land must be handed over to the Provincial Land Development Center by October 30.
Provincial leaders also instructed the Provincial Land Development Center to expedite construction and complete the technical infrastructure of the Long Vân New Urban Area as per the approved project plan. The project must be completed on schedule, with timely handover to the designated management unit in accordance with regulations.
