Today (October 17), BYD Vietnam unveiled the BYD Seal 5, a C-class sedan. The vehicle is offered in a single variant priced at 696 million VND. This model stands out as one of the few hybrids in BYD’s lineup, which predominantly features electric vehicles.

Design-wise, the Seal 5 boasts a modern aesthetic with signature BYD elements such as sleek LED headlights, a narrow grille, and extended taillights. Its dimensions are 4,780 mm in length, 1,837 mm in width, 1,495 mm in height, and a 2,718 mm wheelbase. Compared to the Honda Civic, this Chinese sedan is longer overall but has a shorter wheelbase.
Exterior features include automatic LED headlights with integrated daytime running lights, LED taillights, power-adjustable and foldable side mirrors with turn signals, and 17-inch alloy wheels.

The interior features a 12.8-inch central touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, smartphone connectivity, wireless charging, PM2.5 air filtration, and a 360-degree camera. The infotainment system is paired with an 8-speaker sound system.

The seats are upholstered in synthetic leather. The driver’s seat offers 6-way power adjustment, while the front passenger seat has 4-way adjustment. The rear seats can be folded in a 60/40 split.

The Seal 5 is equipped with BYD’s DM-i Super Hybrid system, combining a 1.5L gasoline engine and an electric motor for a total output of 209 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque, paired with an E-CVT transmission. It can travel up to 120 km on electric power alone, with a combined range of approximately 1,200 km as per the manufacturer.
The vehicle uses BYD’s proprietary Blade battery, touted for its durability and safety. Average fuel consumption is rated at 3.8 liters/100 km (with 25% battery charge remaining).

Safety features include 6 airbags, a 360-degree camera, cruise control, automatic braking with Auto Hold, unintended acceleration prevention, and active vehicle stability control.
The vehicle comes with a 6-year or 150,000 km warranty for the entire car, while the battery and electric motor are covered for 8 years or 160,000 km.
