On October 15th, Changan officially opened pre-orders for its all-new compact electric SUV, the Nevo Q05, marking the next step in the company’s strategy to expand its global electric vehicle lineup. This model will not only be available in China but also targeted at international markets.
Consumers who place a deposit of 199 yuan (approximately $28) will receive a 2,000 yuan ($280) discount upon purchase. Based on the pricing of its sibling, the Nevo Q07 (129,800–171,800 yuan), industry observers predict the Nevo Q05 could be priced between 110,000–130,000 yuan, equivalent to $15,400–18,200, or roughly 403–479 million Vietnamese dong.
The Nevo Q05 boasts a compact design with dimensions of 4,435 x 1,855 x 1,600 (1,595) mm and a wheelbase of 2,735 mm, offering a spacious rear seating area with 990 mm of headroom and 320 mm of legroom. It comes in five exterior color options: green, purple, silver, gray, and white.
The trunk offers a standard capacity of 540 liters, expandable to a maximum of 1,380 liters when the rear seats are folded down.
In its premium variant, the Nevo Q05 is equipped with a roof-mounted lidar sensor, complemented by 11 high-definition cameras, 3 mm-wave radars, and 12 ultrasonic radars, supporting an advanced smart driving system for both highways and urban environments.
The interior features a 15.6-inch 2.5K central display powered by MediaTek’s MT8676 4nm automotive-grade chip, supporting 5G connectivity and compatibility with Huawei HiCar, Apple CarPlay, CarLink, and Honor Connect. Behind the steering wheel is a 10.17-inch digital instrument cluster, alongside amenities such as a 1.8 m² panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, an 8-speaker sound system, 256-color ambient lighting, and 29 storage compartments.
The front seats offer 8-point massage, ventilation, and heating functions, while the passenger seat includes a retractable footrest and can recline up to 165 degrees for enhanced comfort.
The Nevo Q05 is powered by the TZ180XS002 electric motor, delivering a maximum output of 120 kW (161 hp). It offers two battery options from Jinzhongzhao: a 40.29 kWh and a 51.91 kWh LFP battery supplied by CATL.
The CLTC-rated range is 405 km and 506 km, depending on the variant. The 3C fast-charging technology enables the battery to charge from 30% to 80% in just 15 minutes, enhancing daily usability.
As a strategic electric vehicle model for Changan, the Nevo Q05 is positioned in the compact electric SUV segment and will be exported to multiple international markets in the near future. With its advanced technology, impressive range, and competitive pricing, the vehicle is poised to strengthen Changan’s position in the global electric vehicle race.
Changan Automobile is known in Vietnam through its partnership with Kim Long Motor Hue Joint Stock Company to establish an automobile manufacturing plant in Thua Thien Hue, Vietnam. This project was signed in January 2025, with the goal of producing 5-7 seat passenger vehicles, including both internal combustion engine and new energy vehicles.
