“Pride and Excitement”

“Visiting VinFast’s massive complex in Hai Phong, you immediately witness the future of Vietnam’s automotive industry taking shape,” journalist Enrique Garcia impressively opens his article in the renowned Daily Tribune. Garcia is among the Philippine media members who recently toured the Vietnamese automaker’s factory on Cat Hai Island.

The Philippine journalist was impressed by the factory’s scale, spanning over 335 hectares, completed in just 21 months, and operating seamlessly with thousands of welding and stamping robots, alongside a digital monitoring system from Siemens and SAP. Additionally, he noted that all processes are designed for swift error detection and correction.

“During the visit, we witnessed the seamless integration of technical elements with environmental goals,” Garcia wrote.

This trip also marked the first time Paul Reyes, who had already purchased a VF 3 in Manila, saw the birthplace of his mini SUV. The experience deepened his love for the vehicle and the brand. “I’ve always been curious about the VF 3’s production process, and this was my first time witnessing such a modern, high-tech facility,” said Reyes, who has driven his car over 10,000 kilometers. He also shared his awe at the near-complete automation of the factory’s processes.

“Seeing it all firsthand makes me feel proud and excited to be part of Vingroup and the VinFast community,” he said.

For Paul, Garcia, and many others in the Philippine media, VinFast embodies the spirit of Vietnam—a young brand that dares to dream big and is proving its capabilities. In the first three quarters of 2025, VinFast became the first automaker in history to surpass 100,000 vehicle sales in Vietnam, leading the market for nearly a year.

VinFast’s Uniquely Uncopyable Identity

While the factory wowed the media with its scale and technology, the test drives captivated them with real-world experiences—smooth accelerations, precise drifts, and a comfortable ride in the factory’s test area.

Photographer Jonathan de Guzman, who visited with his wife, was impressed by the VF 6’s smooth driving experience. “It’s very comfortable with excellent speed, perfect for daily use. I could drive for hours without fatigue,” he shared enthusiastically. He was particularly impressed by the HUD technology, which enhances driver focus, and the significantly improved battery range.

For racer and YouTuber Carl South Scene, VinFast brings fresh inspiration to the electric vehicle world: “The VF 6 and VF 3 suit my style perfectly. They’re light, fast, and easy to handle, without the ‘soulless’ feel of many electric cars.”

He even revealed plans to form the first VinFast racing team in the Philippines, aiming to set electric vehicle records at the Batangas racetrack. As the owner of a car customization shop, Carl praised VinFast’s build quality: “Many cars look good but feel hollow when you close the door. Not these. The VF 6 is solid and exceptionally well-assembled,” he said.

Meanwhile, journalist Paul Espino highlighted VinFast’s unique identity: “From design to driving feel, VinFast has a distinct character that isn’t copied. That’s admirable for such a young brand.” He believes models like the VF 9 not only offer a smooth ride but also showcase Vietnam’s innovative spirit on the global industrial stage.

From a broader perspective, Enrique Garcia sees VinFast’s growth as a reflection of Vietnam’s determination to build its own automotive industry. “VinFast demonstrates that vision and persistence can drive real change. Their story could shape how transportation infrastructure and technology evolve in the Philippines in the coming years,” he wrote.
