Son Hai Group’s 10-Year Warranty Signage for Hoai Nhon – Quy Nhon Expressway Under Review

The People’s Committee of Gia Lai Province is currently reviewing the approval for Son Hai Group to install a 10-year warranty signage for the Hoai Nhon – Quy Nhon expressway segment, which the company directly constructed.

According to the Office of the People’s Committee of Gia Lai Province, Vice Chairman Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang has tasked the People’s Committees of Phu My Tay and Binh Hiep communes with coordinating relevant agencies to review and consider issuing a permit for Son Hai Group to install the warranty signage, in accordance with current regulations.

The provincial authorities require the signage to have a specific timeframe, and the company must commit to removing it upon request from competent authorities to ensure compliance and maintain traffic safety and aesthetics.

Local authorities are currently inspecting and evaluating the conditions before making a final decision.

Previously, Son Hai Group submitted a proposal to the People’s Committee of Gia Lai Province, requesting permission to install a 10-year warranty signage for the Hoai Nhon – Quy Nhon expressway segment from Km23+500 to Km50+465, which the company constructed. One sign would be placed at the beginning of the route on the right at Km23+500 in Lac Son village, Phu My Tay commune, and another at the end of the route at Km50+447 in Thuan Hiep village, Binh Hiep commune.

The Hoai Nhon – Quy Nhon expressway is a critical part of the North-South Eastern Expressway system, playing a strategic role in connecting the South Central region with the Central Highlands. It contributes to socio-economic development, reduces pressure on National Highway 1, and enhances cargo and tourism transportation capabilities.

If approved, Son Hai Group’s 10-year warranty signage will not only demonstrate the contractor’s commitment to the project but also boost public confidence in the quality of national infrastructure.

Quang Ngai – Hoai Nhon Expressway Races to Meet 2025 Deadline

The Quang Ngai – Hoai Nhon segment of the North-South Expressway, with an investment of over 20.4 trillion VND, is the largest among the 12 sub-projects of the North-South Eastern Expressway. Contractors are maximizing machinery and manpower to complete the project eight months ahead of schedule, targeting completion by December 31, 2025.

The Quang Ngai – Hoai Nhon expressway spans 88 km, passing through Quang Ngai (60.3 km) and Gia Lai (27.7 km) provinces. The total investment is over 20.4 trillion VND, with construction costs accounting for nearly 14.5 trillion VND.

The project includes three large mountain tunnels: Tunnel No. 1 (610 m), Tunnel No. 2 (698 m), and Tunnel No. 3 (3,200 m), along with 77 bridges, 586 culverts, and 81 modern utility tunnels designed to meet Class A expressway standards.

On October 10, 2025, the Government Office issued a document conveying Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh’s directive, urging relevant units to accelerate construction and prioritize asphalt paving of the main route by October 15, 2025.

Contractors are accountable to the Government and the Prime Minister for any delays and must ensure quality, safety, and progress across all construction phases.

Under the contract, the project is scheduled for completion by August 2026. However, contractors are striving to shorten the timeline by eight months, aiming to deliver the project by December 31, 2025, in line with government directives and to facilitate early operation of the expressway. Currently, construction sites are bustling with thousands of engineers and workers operating in three shifts, four teams, alongside hundreds of machines maximizing efforts to accelerate asphalt paving, bridge installation, and mountain tunnel construction.

Upon completion, the Quang Ngai – Hoai Nhon expressway will alleviate traffic pressure on National Highway 1, reduce travel time between South Central and Central Highlands provinces, and enhance regional connectivity.

The project is expected to be a significant infrastructure boost for the region, opening economic, social, tourism, and investment opportunities for Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, and Gia Lai provinces, while contributing to the national transportation network and sustainable development.

Since 2022, Son Hai Group has submitted a commitment letter to the Minister of Transport (now the Ministry of Construction) regarding a 10-year warranty for expressway packages it undertakes.

The commitment ensures that the road surface remains free from rutting, cracking, and unevenness, including at bridge junctions. Regardless of overloading, traffic volume, or adverse weather conditions, the 10-year warranty remains unchanged. The state will not incur any maintenance costs during the warranty period.
