Over the next five years, Tay Ninh province plans to mobilize a total investment of over 152 trillion VND for infrastructure development. This includes approximately 39 trillion VND from the central budget, more than 32 trillion VND from the provincial budget, and around 79 trillion VND from non-budget sources.

Located on the East-West Economic Corridor, Tay Ninh Province borders Ho Chi Minh City and serves as a vital gateway to the Mekong Delta region. With a 369 km border shared with the Kingdom of Cambodia, the province enjoys a strategic advantage for international trade.

At the recent 1st Tay Ninh Provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term, Mr. Pham Tan Hoa, Vice Chairman of Tay Ninh Provincial People’s Committee, highlighted significant achievements in transportation infrastructure over the past five years (2020-2025). The province has upgraded and expanded over 1,155 km of roads, with a total investment of more than VND 62 trillion, of which the local budget contributed nearly VND 50 trillion.

Additionally, Tay Ninh has successfully attracted BOT and ODA funding, establishing an inter-provincial and inter-regional transportation network. This has progressively expanded the urban, industrial, and service development space.

However, Mr. Hoa acknowledged that Tay Ninh’s infrastructure still faces bottlenecks that need addressing.

“Several national and provincial highways, as well as inter-commune roads, are limited in scale and lack synchronization, leading to overloading and impacting goods transportation, particularly in logistics. Furthermore, socialized investment procedures, PPP models, and land clearance processes remain challenging. Current investment resources meet only about 55% of actual needs,” Mr. Hoa stated.

Over the next five years (2025-2030), Tay Ninh Province aims to develop its transportation infrastructure as one of three strategic breakthroughs. This will establish an inter-regional network connecting the Southeast, Mekong Delta, and the Kingdom of Cambodia. The goal is to position Tay Ninh as a logistics hub, integrating transportation infrastructure with industrialization, urbanization, digital transformation, and green development.

According to Mr. Hoa, to achieve this vision, the Provincial Party Committee and People’s Committee have identified key focus areas. The province will prioritize leveraging dynamic axes and key projects with a total investment of over VND 152 trillion (central budget: VND 39 trillion; provincial budget: VND 32 trillion; non-budget sources: approximately VND 79 trillion).

Tay Ninh will develop synchronized transportation infrastructure planning with the Southeast and Mekong Delta regions, ensuring inter-provincial routes meet Grade II road standards or higher, and inter-regional routes meet expressway standards.

The province will also prioritize investment in dynamic transportation axes such as Ho Chi Minh City – Moc Bai, Moc Bai – Asian Highway, Go Dau – Xa Mat Expressway, and Tan An – Binh Hiep Road. These projects will expand development space and enhance transportation, trade, and logistics.

In logistics infrastructure, Tay Ninh aims to complete Ring Road 3 and Ring Road 4 of Ho Chi Minh City (Tay Ninh section), creating a strategic connection between the Southeast, Southwest, and Central Highlands regions. This is a crucial step to expand urban and industrial spaces and establish the province as a logistics hub.

Key transportation projects prioritized by Tay Ninh Province in the coming period include: Moc Bai – Asian Highway, Ho Chi Minh City – Tay Ninh – Dong Thap Road, Ring Road 4 of Ho Chi Minh City (Tay Ninh section), Duc Hoa Dynamic Axis, and Tan An – Binh Hiep Road. Additionally, dynamic transportation projects such as Ho Chi Minh City – Moc Bai Expressway, Go Dau – Xa Mat Expressway, and Binh Chanh – Ring Road 4 – My Quy Tay Border Gate will be implemented.
