Da Nang city leaders inspect the investment and construction of the resettlement area and land clearance for the North-South High-Speed Railway Project.

According to the Project Management Unit for Traffic Infrastructure Investment and Construction of Quang Nam Province, the unit has proactively collaborated with the City Land Development Center and relevant localities to complete the preliminary review, determine compensation volumes, support land clearance, relocate technical infrastructure, and address resettlement needs for the project.

The project is expected to reclaim approximately 910 hectares, requiring around 4,136 residential plots, the construction of 33 resettlement areas, 13 public cemeteries, and a total investment of over 19,250 billion VND.

The section from south of Thu Bồn River to Da Nang’s boundary spans 75.26 km, passing through 15 communes and wards: Go Noi, Duy Xuyen, Xuan Phu, Que Son Trung, Thang Binh, Thang Phu, Thang Dien, Tay Ho, Chien Dan, Ban Thach, Huong Tra, Tam Xuan, Tam Anh, Nui Thanh, and Tam My.

In Duy Xuyen Commune, the project covers approximately 7.83 km with an average land clearance width of 80 meters, totaling 65.84 hectares. Local leaders proposed adjusting the route to minimize negative impacts on two historical sites, Duy Son Primary School, and the Nong Bo Public Cemetery. The suggested adjustments include shifting the route 250-500 meters east or 100 meters west.

For resettlement areas, he stressed the need for modern transportation infrastructure, diverse amenities, environmental impact assessments, and sufficiently large residential plots to ensure comfortable living conditions for residents.

The Vice Chairman instructed all involved units and localities to submit detailed reports and complete files based on the agreed-upon plan during the inspection for the city leadership’s review and decision-making.
