Today, October 20th, major coffee exchanges such as London and New York will open in the afternoon, Vietnam time.

High Coffee Prices at the Start of the Season

Robusta coffee prices began the week at $4,552 per ton for November 2025 delivery and $8,760 per ton for Arabica coffee with December 2025 delivery.

In Vietnam, today’s coffee prices started at an average of 114,300 VND/kg. The highest prices were recorded in Dak Lak, where some dealers quoted 115,000 – 116,000 VND/kg, while the lowest prices were in Lam Dong, at around 113,500 VND/kg.

Fresh Robusta coffee is trading between 20,000 – 24,000 VND/kg, considered high due to selective harvesting by farmers, resulting in a higher ripeness ratio and greater green coffee bean yield compared to bulk harvesting.

Despite the new season, Vietnamese coffee prices remain strong compared to July 2025, when Brazil’s harvest put pressure on supply.

Vietnam Surpasses Brazil in Instant Coffee Exports

The International Coffee Organization (ICO) announced that Vietnam overtook Brazil as the largest exporter of instant coffee in August 2025, shipping 310,000 bags, equivalent to 18,600 tons.

The share of instant coffee in global coffee exports rose to 12.4% in the first 11 months of the 2024-2025 crop year, up from 11.5% in the same period of the 2023-2024 crop year.

In recent years, the production and export of instant coffee have surged due to increasing market demand for convenience and improved quality, driven by new technologies.

Recently, many factories have either opened new facilities or expanded their instant coffee processing capacity to add value, rather than exporting raw materials.
