Miss Đỗ Thị Hà’s upcoming marriage has sparked significant interest, especially as her fiancé, businessman Nguyễn Viết Vương, is the scion of Sơn Hải Group—a leading infrastructure conglomerate in Vietnam.

Founded in 1998 with assets under 1 billion VND, Sơn Hải Group has evolved from a local contractor to a powerhouse in construction, energy, and real estate under the leadership of Nguyễn Viết Hải.

Initially, Vietnam’s infrastructure sector was dominated by state-owned giants like Trường Sơn, Thăng Long, and Cienco. However, over the past decade, Sơn Hải has emerged as a private-sector titan, competing directly in national projects.

The company consistently wins major tenders, invests in advanced equipment, and maintains steady capital growth. Its chartered capital surged from 370 billion VND (2016) to 480 billion VND (2018), 2.366 trillion VND (2021), and 4.478 trillion VND by May 2024—all in cash contributions. Notably, Nguyễn Viết Hải holds absolute control with over 4.476 trillion VND, or 99.9% of the total capital.

This growth mirrors its revenue and tax contributions. In 2023, Sơn Hải reported nearly 4 trillion VND in revenue and paid over 106 billion VND in corporate taxes, becoming Quảng Bình Province’s top taxpayer.

Nguyễn Viết Hải, the visionary founder and Chairman of Sơn Hải Group, drives its success.

Sơn Hải gained prominence in 2014 during the expansion of National Highway 1A. While most contractors offered 2-year warranties, Sơn Hải pledged 5 years for its Quảng Bình segments. During the North-South Expressway project, it extended warranties to 10 years—an unprecedented move showcasing its confidence in quality.

Its projects have become benchmarks for durability and craftsmanship. The Ministry of Transport (now Construction) hailed Sơn Hải as a model of efficiency. Notable works include sections of the North-South Expressway, National Highway 1A in Quảng Bình, and Central Vietnam bypasses resilient to harsh climates.

Sơn Hải’s footprint spans Vietnam’s expressway network, from the Nha Trang – Cam Lâm segment to projects like La Sơn – Túy Loan, Nghi Sơn – Diễn Châu, Vũng Áng – Bùng, Hoài Nhơn – Quy Nhơn, Vân Phong – Nha Trang, and packages XL-07 (Cam Lộ – La Sơn) and XL-10 (Mai Sơn – National Highway 45).

Sơn Hải guarantees a 10-year warranty on its expressway projects.

From 2018 to 2024, Sơn Hải secured 22 contracts totaling over 25 trillion VND. Approximately 76% (19 trillion VND) were awarded through direct appointments, bypassing public bidding.

In 2025, the company won four major contracts, including Package 26 (Km53–Km63+500) of the Sơn La Expressway, outbidding Đèo Cả with a 1.153 trillion VND offer—saving nearly 490 billion VND (30% below estimate). Earlier, it secured a 545.8 billion VND contract for the Hòa Bình – Mộc Châu Expressway, 120 billion VND under budget.

Beyond infrastructure, Sơn Hải has diversified into energy and real estate, becoming a multi-sector conglomerate.

In energy, it invests in major Central Vietnam hydropower projects like Đắkrông 4 (1.4 trillion VND), Đắkrông 3 (400 billion VND), Khe Sông (180 billion VND), and the Hướng Sơn 1–4 cluster (over 5 trillion VND).

In real estate and tourism, Sơn Hải develops large-scale projects: the 40-hectare Nam Cầu Dài Urban Area (5 trillion VND), Trương Phúc Phấn Urban Area (10 hectares, 500 billion VND), a 25-story 5-star hotel and high-rise apartments in Đà Nẵng, and the 5-star Bảo Ninh Resort (22.6 hectares, 2.3 trillion VND) in Quảng Bình.
