Regarding the report by Người Lao Động Newspaper on residents of the 1,500-bed Hospital Resettlement Project in Chánh Hiệp Ward, Ho Chi Minh City (formerly under Định Hòa Ward, Thu Dau Mot City, Binh Duong Province) awaiting land ownership certificates.

The local government’s delay in issuing land use certificates has significantly impacted the lives and livelihoods of resettled households.

The 1,500-bed Hospital Resettlement Area remains sparsely populated.

Mr. Bùi Minh Thạnh, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, has directed Chánh Hiệp Ward to collaborate with the Tax Department to resolve this issue promptly.

According to the Vice Chairman, the exact timing for land pricing must be determined to safeguard residents’ rights. “Tax calculations should be based on the land allocation date, not the certificate issuance date,” Mr. Thạnh emphasized.

The 1,500-bed Hospital Resettlement Project is part of the technical infrastructure development for the resettlement area, aimed at creating a synchronized infrastructure system. It integrates with neighboring areas to form a modern urban complex combining commerce, services, and high-end residential spaces, catering to those displaced by the project.

The project includes roads, signage, road markings, water supply, drainage, electricity, telecommunications, and land grading.

Despite the project’s handover in 2018, occupancy remains low. Several roads lack any residences, leaving the area dimly lit and overgrown with vegetation.
