In June 2024, Honda announced the discontinuation of its iconic Super Cub 50cc due to new emission regulations in Japan. This decision left many fans of the Cub series, particularly those with small motorcycle licenses (under 50cc), feeling nostalgic and disappointed.

By October, Honda unveiled a new lineup of motorcycles tailored to this specific customer segment. The range includes the Super Cub 110 Lite, Super Cub Pro 110 Lite, Cross Cub 110 Lite, and Dio 110 Lite.

Honda’s four new Lite motorcycle models.

These models feature a 110cc engine but are limited to approximately 5 horsepower, ensuring compliance with Japan’s small-displacement motorcycle regulations. This design maintains user-friendliness and accessibility for a wide range of riders.

The Super Cub 110 Lite retains the classic, timeless design of the legendary Cub series. It is priced at approximately 341,000 yen (around $3,000 USD).

The Super Cub Pro 110 Lite is optimized for delivery services, featuring a large front steel basket and an extended chrome rear carrier. It is priced at 385,000 yen (approximately $3,380 USD). The Cross Cub 110 Lite, with its rugged design, is available for 401,500 yen (around $3,520 USD).

Lastly, the Dio 110 Lite is a compact scooter designed for those seeking modernity, convenience, and fuel efficiency. It is essentially the Japanese counterpart of the Honda Vision sold in Vietnam and other markets. The Dio 110 Lite is the most affordable model in Honda’s Lite series, priced at 239,800 yen (approximately $2,100 USD).

The Honda Dio shares a nearly identical design with the Honda Vision available in Vietnam.

These new models expand options for Japanese riders with small motorcycle licenses, reinforcing Honda’s commitment to providing accessible and user-friendly transportation solutions for all customers.
