The Minister of Construction has signed Decision No. 1810/QĐ-BXD dated October 20, 2025, announcing the opening of the Tan Cang – Moc Bai Inland Port (Phase 1) in the Moc Bai Border Gate Economic Zone, Ben Cau District, Tay Ninh Province.
The port is invested by Tan Cang – Tay Ninh Joint Stock Company, a member of Saigon Port Corporation, with a total area of approximately 16.5 hectares and an investment capital of over 550 billion VND.
After nearly two years of construction since November 2023, the project has completed Phase 1, meeting the conditions for customs procedures, warehousing, and transshipment of import-export containers directly at the border area.
According to the decision, Tan Cang – Moc Bai Inland Port is permitted to operate, provide services, and conduct import-export procedures in accordance with Decree 38/2017/NĐ-CP.
Saigon Port Corporation stated that the port is equipped with a container yard, break-bulk warehouse, vehicle storage, modern tire-mounted gantry cranes, forklifts, and trailers.
The port has the capacity to handle large volumes of goods from Cambodia, directly connecting with the port system of Ho Chi Minh City and the Cai Mep – Thi Vai port cluster.
Strategically located on the East-West Economic Corridor, Tan Cang – Moc Bai Inland Port is expected to become a key logistics hub on the Vietnam-Cambodia border, helping reduce congestion at the Moc Bai International Border Gate, optimize transportation costs, and promote trade and investment in Tay Ninh Province.
In September, the People’s Committee of Tay Ninh Province held a ceremony to announce the master plan for the Moc Bai Border Gate Economic Zone until 2045. The approved plan covers a total area of approximately 21,284 hectares, including Ben Cau, Phuoc Chi, and part of Long Thuan communes in Tay Ninh.
The planned population is expected to reach 120,000 to 155,000 by 2030 and 260,000 to 310,000 by 2045.
The Moc Bai Border Gate Economic Zone is envisioned as a new economic growth engine, competing regionally and internationally, serving as a vital trade hub for the Southeast region, connecting Vietnam with Cambodia and ASEAN. It aims to become a center for border gate services, international container transshipment, logistics, finance, commerce, and border services in the Southeast region.
Billion-Dollar Infrastructure Projects Transforming Connectivity Between Tay Ninh and Neighboring Provinces
Over the next five years, Tay Ninh province plans to mobilize a total investment of over 152 trillion VND for infrastructure development. This includes approximately 39 trillion VND from the central budget, more than 32 trillion VND from the provincial budget, and around 79 trillion VND from non-budget sources.
