This marks VPBankS’s largest international capital raise to date, surpassing the $125 million loan arranged by SMBC in May 2025. In total, the company raised $400 million in 2025 through bilateral and syndicated loans led by SMBC.
According to the company, the raised capital will strengthen its core business pillars, particularly investment banking (IB) and margin lending.
“Despite being only three years old, VPBankS successfully raised over $400 million in international capital in 2025, reflecting its unique position within the VPBank and SMBC ecosystem. This capital will support our upcoming growth plans,” said Vu Huu Dien, Board Member and CEO of VPBankS, regarding the deal.
At the Roadshow event themed “VPBankS – Harmonizing Prosperity, Leading with Resilience” held in Ho Chi Minh City on October 15th, Mr. Dien emphasized VPBankS’s operating model as a well-capitalized securities company, strongly supported by its parent bank and ecosystem, while deeply integrated within it.
Over the next five years, the company’s strategy will focus on four key pillars: deep integration into VPBank’s multi-layered ecosystem; leveraging governance capabilities from its parent bank and strategic partner SMBC to enhance efficiency; diversifying financial products and improving service quality for sustainable market leadership; and leading in technology, particularly AI and blockchain.
“VPBank – SMBC – VPBankS is a powerful brand combination in the market, young yet already establishing its position,” Mr. Dien shared.
