Nguyễn Đỗ Nguyệt Ánh
On October 20, the Hanoi People’s Procuracy issued an indictment, charging Hoàng Tùng (34, residing in Nam Từ Liêm District, Hanoi) – CEO of T.U.N.G Dining LLC, and Nguyễn Đỗ Nguyệt Ánh (born in 1992, residing in Phúc Lợi Ward, Long Biên) with the crime of “Tax Evasion” under the Penal Code.
T.U.N.G Dining is a renowned fine dining restaurant in Hanoi, co-founded by chef Hoàng Tùng and COO Nguyễn Đỗ Nguyệt Ánh. Former university classmates with a shared passion for haute cuisine, they introduced the tasting menu concept to Vietnam, shaping the modern fine dining scene domestically.
Nguyễn Đỗ Nguyệt Ánh studied International Business in Finland and later earned an MBA from the University of Birmingham (UK). She previously worked at Ernest & Young and one of Vietnam’s top four investment banks.
As T.U.N.G Dining’s CEO, Ánh oversaw operations, communications, HR, and finance for T.U.N.G Group, while jointly managing revenue, expenses, and profit distribution with Hoàng Tùng.
After three years, T.U.N.G Dining was named among Asia’s top 100 restaurants in 2021 by The World’s 50 Best—a prestigious global ranking alongside Michelin Guide. Building on this success, Å by T.U.N.G opened in Ho Chi Minh City in 2021, showcasing Nordic cuisine and earning a Michelin Selected 2023 distinction.
Beyond T.U.N.G Dining, Nguyễn Đỗ Nguyệt Ánh co-founded other culinary brands like Run=Rice (Vietnamese-style fast rice meals) and Run Fun – The Eating Room (European cuisine).
However, in October 2025, the Hanoi People’s Procuracy charged both Hoàng Tùng and Nguyễn Đỗ Nguyệt Ánh with tax evasion.

According to case files, in March 2024, the Hanoi Tax Department discovered the restaurant underreporting revenue, selling goods without invoices, and failing to record full earnings in accounting books. The case was subsequently transferred to police for investigation.
Investigations revealed Hoàng Tùng, as the legal representative, directly managed all business operations, while Nguyễn Đỗ Nguyệt Ánh handled communications, HR, brand promotion, and managed accounts for profit distribution. Both were responsible for tracking revenue, expenses, and accounting records, while other shareholders were not involved in tax declarations or payments.
From 2019 to 2023, T.U.N.G Dining generated over VND 53 billion in actual revenue but declared only VND 29.4 billion; the discrepancy of over VND 23.5 billion went unreported. This amount was used for dividend payments of approximately VND 6.7 billion and operational costs exceeding VND 16.8 billion.
The March 19, 2024 tax audit determined the total evaded tax at over VND 2.4 billion, including VND 2.1 billion in VAT and VND 335 million in personal income tax.
The case remains under investigation by authorities in accordance with the law.
Restaurant Owner Evades Taxes by Using Personal Accounts for Payment Receipts
Witnessing the restaurant’s soaring revenue, Hoàng Tùng, Director of Tung Dinning LLC, and accomplices exploited personal accounts to collect customer payments. Investigators determined this scheme resulted in a tax evasion loss of 2.4 billion VND.
