On October 22, as reported by Tien Phong newspaper, the Ly Tu Trong road project through Thuan Giao and Tan Khanh wards (Ho Chi Minh City) is underway with land clearance and upgrading works.
The project follows the existing two-lane road, starting at the Binh Chuan intersection (Ly Tu Trong – DT.743) and ending 50 meters before Tan Khanh Bridge, connecting to the existing DT.746 road.
The project spans 2,678 meters. The final cross-section width is 32 meters (16 meters from the centerline on each side). The existing Tan Khanh Bridge will be repaired and expanded with a new 7.45-meter bridge on the left and a 12.05-meter bridge on the right to ensure adequate width.
The project is managed by the Binh Duong Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (Ho Chi Minh City).
The total investment for the project exceeds 1 trillion VND.
On-site observations reveal multiple machines excavating soil along the road. The Power Department has installed new poles and relocated power lines but has not yet removed the old poles.
Residential and commercial structures along the road have been demolished and cleared. The contractor is currently installing the drainage system.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan, a resident along Ly Tu Trong road, shared that this road connects to major traffic arteries such as DT.743, National Highway 13, and DT.746. The narrow road often experiences congestion and flooding during rain, affecting local residents’ lives. Locals are excited to see the road being upgraded.
The old route passes through a densely populated residential area with many industrial companies, but the road is narrow and several sections are damaged and deteriorated.
After multiple adjustments, the project was approved in 2022. Construction began in late 2024 and is expected to be completed by April 2026.
