Recently, at the BYD passenger car manufacturing plant in Camaçari, Bahia, Brazil, BYD’s 14 millionth new energy vehicle (NEV) rolled off the production line. This milestone marks BYD as the world’s first automaker to achieve this production volume for NEVs. During the ceremony, BYD Chairman and CEO Wang Chuanfu presented the 14 millionth vehicle, a BYD Song Pro, to Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva as a token of honor.

President Lula emphasized, “BYD’s plant not only creates jobs but also restores pride for the people of Camaçari and Bahia. BYD is writing a new chapter in Brazil’s industrial history with the world’s most advanced and fastest vehicles.”
BYD’s leadership also announced the provision of 30 new energy vehicles for the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30) in Belém, Pará. Post-conference, these vehicles will be donated to local schools and public organizations, furthering green transportation initiatives within the community.

Ahead of the event, the Bahia Legislative Assembly renamed the main road in front of the BYD plant as “BYD Avenue.” This marks the third road globally named after BYD, following those in Lancaster, USA, and Rayong, Thailand.
The BYD Song Pro, a standout C-segment SUV, is best known for its Plug-in Hybrid variant, the Song Pro DM-i. It impresses with its modern design, advanced technology, and exceptional fuel efficiency. Externally, it features BYD’s signature “Dragon Face” design language, characterized by bold lines, full-width taillights, and sporty alloy wheels. The interior boasts premium materials, a large rotatable infotainment screen, and the intelligent DiLink system.

The vehicle is equipped with a hybrid powertrain combining a 1.5L gasoline engine (99 hp) and an electric motor (160 hp), along with battery options offering an all-electric range of 75 to 115 km. The Song Pro DM-i’s key strength lies in its total range of up to 1,400 km on a full tank and charge, making it a compelling choice in the C-SUV segment with its ultra-low fuel consumption (under 5 L/100 km).
