The Nguyen Khoai Bridge and Road Project is Expected to Commence in 2025

According to Mr. Giang, the Nguyen Khoai Overpass project plays a crucial role in alleviating traffic congestion on major routes in the area, such as Nguyen Tat Thanh, Nguyen Huu Tho, Kenh Te Bridge, and Duong Ba Trac. It also aims to resolve traffic bottlenecks at the southern gateway and enhance regional connectivity.

Currently, the project is in the compensation phase for areas in the former District 4, preparing for construction, with an expected groundbreaking in 2025.

AI Applications in Monitoring Key Project Progress

In addition to the Nguyen Khoai project, Ho Chi Minh City is focusing on the Binh Tien Bridge and Road and National Highway 50 projects—key infrastructure developments in the southern region. These projects are set to begin urgently and be completed between 2025 and 2030, aiming to significantly improve traffic flow and urban development.

Notably, Ho Chi Minh City is developing a comprehensive project management software for all major projects until 2030. The An Phu and Tan Van intersections have been selected as pilot sites for applying artificial intelligence (AI) to monitor progress and oversee traffic conditions.

“The City’s Digital Transformation Center has already achieved initial research results on applying AI for supervision at these two intersections,” Mr. Giang stated.

Mr. Giang emphasized that the use of AI in project management, construction, and other sectors is a global trend.

The Department of Construction is advising the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee to implement the Building Information Modeling (BIM) system in conjunction with Geographic Information System (GIS) data in construction activities, aligning with the national digital transformation roadmap and directives from the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Construction.
