“Parliament Approves Appointment of Deputy Prime Minister and Several Ministers This Morning”

Based on the proposal by Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính, the National Assembly has approved the appointment of the Deputy Prime Minister and ratified the appointment of several Ministers for the 2021-2026 term.

Continuing the agenda of the 10th Session, on the morning of October 25th, the National Assembly convened a private meeting to address personnel matters.

Previously, during the afternoon session on October 24th, the National Assembly heard Vice Chairman Nguyen Khac Dinh present the Proposal of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly regarding: Electing a Member of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, Chairman of the Committee on Deputies’ Affairs of the 15th National Assembly; Electing the Chairman of the Committee on Science, Technology, and Environment of the 15th National Assembly; Electing the Secretary-General of the National Assembly – Head of the National Assembly Office for the 15th term.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh presented the Proposal requesting the National Assembly to approve the appointment of Deputy Prime Ministers for the 2021-2026 term and the appointment of several Ministers for the same term.

During yesterday’s afternoon session, the National Assembly voted to adopt a Resolution to increase the number of Deputy Prime Ministers through electronic voting, with 430 out of 434 participants approving.

The National Assembly also adopted a Resolution to relieve Mr. Le Quang Tung from his duties as a Member of the Standing Committee of the 15th National Assembly and as Secretary-General of the National Assembly – Head of the National Assembly Office; Mrs. Nguyen Thanh Hai from her position as Chairwoman of the Committee on Deputies’ Affairs; and Mr. Le Quang Huy from his role as Chairman of the Committee on Science, Technology, and Environment.

Additionally, the National Assembly approved a Resolution to endorse the Prime Minister’s proposal to relieve several Ministers of their duties for the 2021-2026 term, including: Mr. Bui Thanh Son as Minister of Foreign Affairs; Mrs. Pham Thi Thanh Tra as Minister of Home Affairs; and Mr. Do Duc Duy as Minister of Agriculture and Environment.

Furthermore, the National Assembly adopted a Resolution to dismiss Mr. Tran Van Thuc as a delegate of the 15th National Assembly and approved the dismissal of three members of the National Election Council, including Mrs. Pham Thi Thanh Tra, Mrs. Nguyen Thanh Hai, and Mr. Le Quang Tung.
