During last night’s trading session, ending early this morning on October 24th (Vietnam time), the price of Robusta coffee on the London exchange surged by up to $131 per ton, reaching $4,870 per ton. However, it closed the session with a significant drop of $185 per ton, settling at $4,554 per ton for the November 2025 delivery.

Anxiety Mounts as Coffee Prices Fluctuate

This session marked the most volatile price movement since the beginning of October, causing concern among farmers.

Today’s domestic coffee prices are expected to decline sharply following yesterday’s enthusiastic rally, which saw an average increase of approximately 2,800 VND/kg, pushing the average coffee price to 118,300 VND/kg.

However, coffee prices in Lam Dong remain low at 117,000 VND/kg, while in Dak Lak, prices range between 118,500 and 119,000 VND/kg.

Just as farmers were hoping for prices to rebound to 120,000 VND/kg, the market took an unexpected turn.

On the New York exchange, Arabica coffee prices followed a similar pattern. The December 2025 contract saw an intraday high of $380 per ton but closed with a $240 per ton decline, ending at $9,040 per ton.
