The Tam Thang Tower stands as the centerpiece of the eponymous square on Thuy Van Street in Vung Tau, Ho Chi Minh City. Funded by Sun Group, this 155 billion VND project showcases both international sophistication and local cultural heritage through its design and construction.

Designed by renowned young European architect Oliviero Godi, the tower’s silhouette draws inspiration from three powerful ship prows reaching skyward. This design symbolizes the harmonious blend of global excellence and local identity.

The tower pays homage to the historical narrative of Thang Nhat, Thang Nhi, and Thang Tam—three villages tasked with safeguarding the coastal region during the reign of King Gia Long. Their legacy is immortalized in this architectural marvel.

Comprising 143 columns ranging from 4.5 to over 34 meters in height, the structure ascends gradually toward the sea. Crafted from reinforced concrete and clad in mosaic ceramic tiles, the columns reflect light brilliantly, especially when illuminated by multicolored LED lights at night.

Weighing thousands of tons, with the tallest column tipping the scales at 104 tons, the tower’s vertical alignment is remarkably precise—deviating by less than 5 mm. This precision underscores the engineering prowess behind its construction.

Adjacent to the tower lies the 1.7-hectare Tam Thang Square, featuring amenities such as a musical fountain, scenic viewpoints, and a café. This vibrant space enhances the area’s appeal for both locals and visitors.

Completed in just 75 days and inaugurated on September 2nd, the tower’s rapid construction is hailed as a remarkable feat in the industry. Since its opening, it has become a beloved landmark and a popular check-in spot for tourists.

Additionally, Thuy Van Street has undergone a 1.1 trillion VND beautification project, commencing in late October 2024 and executed across three continuous shifts. This initiative further elevates the area’s aesthetic and functional appeal.

Stretching 3.2 km along Bai Sau Beach in Vung Tau Ward, Thuy Van Street is a vital coastal route connecting luxury hotels, resorts, and high-rise oceanfront residences such as Bioss Boss Condotel, Pullman Vung Tau, and Cap Saint Jacques.

The completion of seaside parks and promenades has transformed the area into an open, inviting space for residents and tourists. Formerly cluttered with makeshift stalls and parking lots, it now offers a clean, accessible public area with unobstructed sea views.

Thousands of newly planted trees line the street, complemented by seasonal artistic lighting. At night, Thuy Van Street dazzles with modern LED illumination, enhancing Vung Tau’s vibrant and professional image for visitors.

Following the renovation, Bai Sau Beach has emerged as the city’s most integrated tourism hub. Wide sidewalks, resting benches, and seaside steps seamlessly blend with the coastal landscape, offering visitors a relaxed atmosphere and breathtaking views.

These developments have solidified Thuy Van Street’s status as Vung Tau’s most valuable thoroughfare. Frontline land prices now range from 150 to 180 million VND per square meter, marking a 20-25% increase year-over-year. Hotel room rates have risen by 10-15%, and weekend bookings have surged, reflecting the area’s growing popularity.
