The Department of Construction of Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) has recently released a report detailing the progress of its tasks for the first nine months of 2025, along with key initiatives planned for the final quarter.
Since the beginning of 2025, HCMC has initiated 26 projects and completed 30 infrastructure and technical facilities. The Department of Construction has spearheaded the development and submission of investment proposals for 13 projects, including major initiatives such as the Ring Road 4, Binh Tien Bridge, and four BOT projects aimed at expanding National Highway 1, National Highway 13, National Highway 22, and the North-South Axis Road.
Additionally, the department is preparing to invest in 154 new transportation infrastructure projects during the 2026-2030 period. Collaborating with the Department of Finance, they have provided feedback on over 900 public investment projects in transportation and technical infrastructure, indicating a continued expansion in public investment within this sector.
Accelerating Key Projects and Completions
In the last three months of the year, HCMC aims to commence 20 major projects, including transformative initiatives like the HCMC – Moc Bai Expressway, the intersection of the Ben Luc – Long Thanh Expressway with National Highway 50, segments 1 and 2 of Ring Road 2, Metro Line 2 (Ben Thanh – Tham Luong), Nguyen Khoai Bridge, and environmental improvement projects for the Doi Canal and Xuyen Tam Creek.
Concurrently, the city plans to finalize 25 transportation infrastructure projects, among which are highly anticipated developments such as the An Phu Intersection, Luong Dinh Cua Street (Tran Nao – Nguyen Hoang section), and Chu Van An Street (from Binh Hoa Junction to Chu Van An Bridge).
Expanding Technical Infrastructure and Urban Environment Enhancements
Beyond transportation, the Department of Construction will oversee technical and environmental infrastructure projects, including Tan Thanh Tay Park, the renovation of the Tham Luong – Ben Cat Canal and Nuoc Len Creek (linking Long An, Binh Duong, and Dong Nai provinces), and the beautification of Thuy Van Street. These projects aim to mitigate flooding, enhance urban aesthetics, and promote sustainable urban development.
According to the Department of Construction, expediting these critical projects by the end of 2025 is crucial for alleviating infrastructure bottlenecks, fostering growth in the 2026-2030 period, enhancing regional connectivity, and improving urban living standards.
