On the afternoon of October 26, the People’s Committee of Ca Mau Province, in collaboration with the Vietnam Business Association, hosted the 2025 Business Forum.

The Hon Khoai Seaport is under construction, featuring a direct road link from the mainland to the island, expected to drive significant economic growth for Ca Mau in the coming years.

The province boasts strategic advantages for developing logistics services, including the dual-purpose Hon Khoai Seaport, an airport, and three expressways connecting to regional economic hubs and Ho Chi Minh City.

Ca Mau has identified enterprise development as a critical mission, serving as the driving force behind economic growth, job creation, labor productivity enhancement, modernization, and economic restructuring.

At the forum, entrepreneurs, business clubs, and young business associations analyzed and reassessed Ca Mau’s potential and strengths in energy, seafood, shrimp processing, transportation infrastructure, industrial zones, and economic zones. They proposed innovative ideas and solutions to effectively leverage these advantages for the province’s sustainable development.

Ms. Vo Thi Thu Huong, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Mekong Delta Branch, highlighted the significant interest from businesses in the Hon Khoai Seaport. The port, along with its road network and transportation system, facilitates the export of goods from the Mekong Delta to global markets, offering substantial opportunities for businesses to join production and supply chains.

Mr. Pham Van Thieu, Chairman of the Ca Mau Provincial People’s Council, addressing the forum.

In his keynote address, Mr. Pham Van Thieu, Chairman of the Ca Mau Provincial People’s Council, emphasized Ca Mau’s transformed status. No longer a remote or isolated region, Ca Mau is now recognized by the central government as the “Southernmost Province of the Nation,” a gateway to the vast ocean with unique advantages and outstanding opportunities.

“This context and potential have ignited a new momentum and aspiration for Ca Mau to rise strongly, joining the nation in striving for a prosperous and happy future,” Mr. Thieu shared.

To ensure businesses and investors feel confident in investing in the province, Mr. Thieu urged the People’s Committee to promptly review all provincial and sectoral plans, ensuring coherence and maximizing the advantages of each locality. This will serve as a foundation for directing investment in alignment with the province’s four key investment pillars.

The forum also witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Ca Mau People’s Committee and the Vietnam Young Business Association. The association pledged 5 billion VND to construct sanitation facilities and clean water filtration systems for schools across the province.
