Regarding the enforcement of the judgment against Dinh La Thang, Deputy Director of the Civil Judgment Enforcement Department (CJED), Tran Thi Phuong Hoa, stated that Dinh La Thang is required to pay a total of over 830 billion VND. However, the case faces challenges as Mr. Thang’s assets are insufficient to cover the enforcement amount.
Upon verification by the CJED, it was found that Mr. Thang possesses only one joint asset with his spouse, a condominium, and no other properties. The CJED has successfully recovered over 4 billion VND from this asset.
Ms. Tran Thi Phuong Hoa further mentioned that the CJED will continue to investigate and, if any additional assets related to Dinh La Thang are discovered, they will be handled according to the law.
When discussing the recovery of assets in corruption and economic cases, particularly those monitored by the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption, Ms. Phuong Hoa noted a consistent increase in enforcement results over the past three years.
Specifically, in 2023, the civil judgment enforcement agency recovered and processed over 20,405 billion VND (an increase of 4,415 billion VND compared to 2022). In 2024, the amount recovered exceeded 22,177 billion VND (an increase of over 1,771 billion VND from 2023). As of 2025, 27,416 billion VND has been recovered, marking a 23.62% increase (over 5,239 billion VND) compared to the same period in 2024.
