On the afternoon of October 28th, despite moderate rainfall, Nguyen Van Khoi Street in Thong Tay Hoi Ward (former Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City) experienced severe flooding. Water overflowed onto the sidewalks and inundated businesses on both sides of the road, making travel extremely challenging for many vehicles.
Floodwaters also penetrated deep into alleys, significantly disrupting residents’ daily activities and mobility. Due to an overwhelmed drainage system, the flooding persisted for several hours. Many small businesses were forced to close, and vendors could only watch helplessly as water levels rose.
Nguyen Van Khoi Street transformed into a “sea of water,” forcing vehicles to move slowly to avoid stalling.

According to the Southern Regional Hydro-Meteorological Center, from 7 PM on October 28th to 7 PM on October 30th, the area will continue to experience moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms. Locally, there will be very heavy rainfall, with total precipitation ranging from 70–140 mm, and some areas may exceed 140 mm.
