Speaking at the launch event of VinFast Philippines’ National Electric Vehicle Design Competition, Antonio Zara, CEO of VinFast Southeast Asia, candidly shared the company’s strategic vision.
“Our first milestone in the Philippines is to become the number one BEV brand by next year,” Zara declared, referencing the specific target for 2026.
To achieve this leading position, VinFast’s sales volume will heavily depend on the overall electric vehicle adoption rate in the Philippines. The CEO predicts that EV adoption in the country could reach 4 to 5% by next year.
However, he also acknowledged that reaching this ambitious goal depends on several factors, particularly the expansion of the nationwide charging infrastructure.

This ambition is set against the backdrop of VinFast’s recent entry into the Philippine market, which occurred just last year.
To support this breakthrough growth and ascend to the top position, VinFast is aggressively expanding its retail network. Zara revealed that VinFast plans to have at least 30 dealerships nationwide by the end of this year (2025). By 2026, the company aims to increase this number to 50.
Alongside its sales network, VinFast is also focusing on after-sales services. The Vietnamese automaker aims to certify 100 third-party service workshops by next year, allowing them to operate as authorized dealerships.
According to Zara, these workshops will be equipped to handle routine maintenance, warranty repairs, and utilize VinFast’s proprietary diagnostic tools.
