According to the Hanoi Capital Transport Plan until 2030, with a vision to 2050, the city will feature 18 bridges crossing the Red River. Currently, 9 bridges have been completed, and 7 more commenced construction in 2025. The remaining two bridges, the new Thang Long Bridge and Phu Xuyen Bridge, are yet to begin construction.
On October 28th, the Department of Construction announced that 10 additional bridges are proposed as part of the “Red River Avenue and Riverside Landscape” project, submitted by a consortium of investors. Once approved by Hanoi authorities, these bridges will join the two pending projects, bringing the total number of new Red River crossings to 12.

Additionally, the consortium proposes a monorail system for public transport, running parallel to the riverside avenue. To enhance connectivity, 10 new bridges are planned. The total investment is estimated at VND 300 trillion, utilizing a PPP financing model.
The 10 proposed bridges include: Lien Trung, Tam Xa, An Duong, Ngoc Thuy, Cu Khoi, Bat Trang, and Khuyen Luong.
Completed bridges (9): Long Bien, Thang Long, Chuong Duong, Vinh Tuy 1, Vinh Tuy 2, Thanh Tri, Vinh Thinh, Van Lang, and Nhat Tan. Under construction (7): Tu Lien, Ngoc Hoi, Van Phuc, Me So, Hong Ha, Thuong Cat, and Tran Hung Dao. Pending (2): New Thang Long Bridge and Phu Xuyen Bridge.
