Massive Clearance of Old VIN Stock in Vietnam: Prices Slashed to Unprecedented Levels, with Some Models Discounted by Over a Billion Dong, Cheaper Than Lower Segments

Mercedes-Benz Slashes Prices on Multiple Models

Alongside new launches, Mercedes-Benz Vietnam’s existing lineup is seeing significant discounts at dealerships, with substantial price cuts across the board.

At a Hanoi dealership, the previous-generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class is being heavily discounted to clear inventory for the newly launched model. Specifically, the E 300 AMG is reduced by up to 800 million VND, now priced at around 2.15 billion VND; the E 200 Exclusive is down to approximately 1.95 billion VND, while the E 180 is available for as low as 1.699 billion VND, nearly matching the price of the Toyota Camry HEV. All models are locally assembled and manufactured in 2023.

The premium S-Class sedan is also undergoing significant price adjustments. Some dealerships are offering discounts of around 600 million VND on the S 450 and 500 million VND on the S 450 Luxury, bringing their actual selling prices down to 4.439 billion VND and 5.059 billion VND, respectively. These models are also 2023 productions, similar to the E-Class.

Notably, high-performance Mercedes-AMG models are witnessing record-breaking discounts, reaching up to a billion VND. For instance, the Mercedes-AMG GT 53 4Matic+ is reduced from 6.7 billion VND to 3.9 billion VND, the C 43 4Matic is available for under 2 billion VND at some locations, and the GLE 53 Coupe 4Matic is priced at around 3.6 billion VND.

BMW iX3 Discounted by Over a Billion VND

The luxury car market continues to see a wave of steep discounts, with several BMW models now offered at reductions of hundreds of millions to over a billion VND.

The BMW iX3 electric vehicle is currently discounted by more than 1 billion VND nationwide. The actual selling price has dropped from 3.539 billion VND to 2.495 billion VND, a reduction of 1.044 billion VND. All discounted units are 2023 models and come with a complimentary home charging station for buyers.

This discount is even higher than the prices of many mid-size CUVs such as the Mazda CX-5 (749 – 979 million VND), Ford Territory (762 – 896 million VND), Kia Sportage (819 – 1.009 million VND), and Hyundai Tucson (769 – 989 million VND). After the discount, the BMW iX3 is priced similarly to the Ford Mustang Mach-E (2.499 billion VND) and Mercedes-Benz EQB (2.309 billion VND), while also approaching premium gasoline models like the Mercedes-Benz GLC 200 (2.299 billion VND), BMW X3 (2.299 billion VND), and Audi Q5 (2.39 billion VND).

Meanwhile, at a central region dealership, the BMW X4 and BMW 5 Series are receiving discounts of nearly 500 million VND. Specifically, the 2023 BMW X4 M Sport is reduced by 480 million VND to 2.519 billion VND, 760 million VND lower than its launch price in 2022.

The BMW 5 Series also sees significant reductions. The 2023 520i M Sport is down by 240 million VND to 2.119 billion VND, 850 million VND less than its initial announced price. The 2022 530i M Sport is reduced by 465 million VND to 2.354 billion VND, a drop of 935 million VND from its 2021 launch price.

Subaru Outback Discounted by Over Half a Billion VND

According to a survey at a Hanoi dealership, the Subaru Outback 2.5i-T Eyesight is now priced at just 1.549 billion VND, a reduction of 550 million VND from its listed price of 2.099 billion VND. However, this substantial discount applies only to 2023 models. For the 2025 VIN version, the discount is more modest at 10 million VND, bringing the actual selling price down to 1.759 billion VND.

This isn’t the first time the Outback has seen such steep discounts. Previously, this SUV was offered with up to 500 million VND in incentives to attract buyers. Nonetheless, the Outback holds a unique position in the market, as it has virtually no direct competitors in its segment.

While its listed price is comparable to many luxury models, the actual discounted price has made this Japanese-origin 5-seater SUV more accessible to a broader range of customers.

In reality, the Subaru Outback in Vietnam can be considered to have no equivalent competitor. When compared to official prices, the Outback is close to many luxury models. Now, the actual selling price has made this 5-seater SUV more approachable for the majority of consumers.

After the price adjustment, the Subaru Outback is now priced similarly to the Hyundai Palisade (1.469 – 1.589 billion VND). However, including dealership promotions, the Palisade—which is in a higher segment—is currently more affordable. In terms of size, the Outback belongs to the D-segment SUV category, comparable to the Hyundai Santa Fe.

Kia K5 Priced Competitively with Lower Segments

A dealership in Ho Chi Minh City is offering the Kia K5 Luxury at just 679 million VND. The Kia K5 Luxury is listed at 849 million VND. This price is even lower than the standard versions of some models in the segment below, such as the Honda Civic (from 789 million VND) and Toyota Corolla Altis (from 725 million VND).

Thus, the actual price has been reduced by up to 170 million VND. However, this promotion applies only to 2023 models and is limited to just one unit remaining.

The Kia K5 sold only 19 units in September 2025, but it’s not the slowest-selling D-segment sedan. The Mazda6 has gone months without a single sale, while the Accord sold only 5 units in September.

Kia Sorento Older Models Heavily Discounted

A Hanoi dealership is currently offering a 150 million VND cash discount on the Kia Sorento PHEV 1.6L Premium, bringing the actual selling price down to 1.249 billion VND.

Compared to the 2022 listed price of 1.659 billion VND, the current discount amounts to 410 million VND. However, the dealership notes that these are 2023 models from the pre-upgrade version, with limited remaining stock.

Meanwhile, the facelifted Sorento launched in mid-September 2025 features a more modern design but lacks the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) option—a significant advantage of the discounted version.

Isuzu mu-X Older Models Still in Stock

A Hanoi dealership is offering significant discounts on the Isuzu mu-X. Specifically, the mu-X B7 Plus is now priced at just 850 million VND—a reduction of 149 million VND from its original listed price of 999 million VND. The drawback is that the vehicle is “outdated” by two years, having been manufactured in 2023.

The reason for this deep discount is that the dealership is closing down and needs to liquidate remaining inventory quickly. Only two units are available at this discounted price.

Despite being offered at an attractive price, the 2023 Isuzu mu-X has certain limitations compared to the new model launched in June 2025. Its overall design and technological features have become outdated, leading to faster depreciation in resale value. However, for long-term users, it remains an economical and worthwhile option in the 7-seater SUV segment.
