According to the Quang Ninh Province Electronic Information Portal, on October 29th, approximately 1,000 Chinese tourists from the JIA DAI Group visited Ha Long Bay. This Chinese tourist group arrived in Vietnam as part of a MICE tourism program (combining meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions).

The group entered through the Mong Cai International Border Gate and embarked on a 4-day, 3-night itinerary in Quang Ninh. During their stay, tourists explored renowned attractions such as the Quang Ninh Museum and Library, the Sun World Ha Long entertainment complex, and cruised on 36 tourist boats to experience Ha Long Bay.

Quang Ninh hosted a welcoming ceremony for the tourist group.

MICE tourism is a specialized form of travel, blending sightseeing and leisure with meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions. Unlike traditional tourism, MICE targets large, professionally organized groups, generating significant economic value and strong destination promotion.

This segment is considered a “gold mine” for the tourism industry, as each group not only contributes directly through accommodation, dining, and transportation but also enhances destination branding, attracts investment, and fosters trade connections.

In recent years, Quang Ninh has witnessed a notable increase in MICE tourist groups, particularly from China, organized by domestic and international travel agencies. This positive trend opens new prospects for attracting international visitors, especially as Chinese tourists consistently account for 35-40% of total foreign visitors staying in the province.

Earlier in mid-October, another group of nearly 1,000 high-end Chinese tourists entered Vietnam through the Mong Cai International Border Gate, beginning a 5-day, 4-night MICE tour in Quang Ninh.

According to plans, during the final months of 2025, Quang Ninh expects to welcome approximately 350,000 to 400,000 Chinese visitors, including many large groups of 1,000 to 2,000 tourists.

Most groups opt for 3-day, 2-night or 4-day, 3-night programs, utilizing premium services and staying at 4-5 star hotels within the province.
