An exceptionally large park project, spanning approximately 620 hectares, is being promoted in the Tuan Chau – Viet Hung area (Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province), opposite Ha Long Bay. This development promises to enhance the landscape and green spaces of Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site recognized twice for its natural beauty.

Quang Ninh Province is currently seeking public input on the environmental impact assessment report for this project. The project is led by Vingroup as the primary investor.

A National-Scale Public Space

The project will be constructed primarily on hilly and forested land, aiming to create a public park that combines nature conservation, outdoor sports, and eco-tourism. The park is divided into four functional zones:

Zone 1 (over 110 hectares) focuses on family and tourist activities, including a culinary center, camping, BBQ areas, a plum blossom garden, kite-flying zones, and community experiences.

Zone 2 (approximately 82 hectares) is dedicated to outdoor sports and entertainment, featuring a plaza, yoga areas, a golf practice range, kayak docking stations, and a multi-purpose sports center.

Zone 3 (nearly 277 hectares) is designed for eco-tourism, offering forest walking trails, bird-watching areas for migratory species, fishing spots, and open ecological spaces.

Zone 4 (over 147 hectares) will house a wellness forest, meditation areas, and a health care center.

The total investment is expected to exceed 1.3 trillion VND, with approximately 200 billion VND from the company’s budget and the remainder sourced from credit, ensuring project development progress.

Strategic Location and Economic-Tourism Expectations

The park is strategically located along key transportation routes, including National Highway 18, the Ha Long – Van Don Expressway, and the high-speed Hanoi – Ha Long railway, just 6 km from the center of Ha Long Bay. This prime location positions the project as a favored destination for tourists, residents, and locals, while also introducing high-quality tourism products near the world-famous bay.

Notably, the park is adjacent to the Ha Long Xanh urban project by Vingroup, covering over 4,100 hectares with a total investment of approximately 18 billion USD—the largest project ever undertaken by the group. Together, these projects are expected to form a world-class urban, ecological, and resort complex, creating a major landscape axis on the western side of Ha Long and driving growth in the local service, tourism, and real estate sectors.

Land compensation and clearance are scheduled to begin in Q1/2026, with the park expected to welcome visitors by mid-2027, provided progress remains on track. Implementation activities must be accompanied by environmental impact assessments, traffic planning, and appropriate public service arrangements to ensure efficient and sustainable operation.

The 620-hectare park is expected to enhance Ha Long’s tourism offerings by introducing eco-resort experiences, outdoor sports, and wellness activities, complementing the region’s existing strengths in bay and beach tourism.
