On October 30, 2025, Vietjet and Rolls-Royce signed a landmark agreement for 92 Trent 7000 engines, including a comprehensive maintenance service package valued at $3.8 billion. The official signing ceremony took place in the presence of General Secretary To Lam, Vietnamese leaders, and Mr. Matt Western, the UK Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy, during the Vietnam-UK High-Level Economic Conference.

This event marks a historic milestone during General Secretary To Lam’s visit to the United Kingdom, elevating bilateral relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. It heralds a new era of deepened cooperation in aviation, technology, and investment.

The advanced Trent 7000 engines will power Vietjet’s fleet of 40 A330neo aircraft, enabling direct flights to Europe. Alongside the engine purchase, Vietjet has opted for comprehensive maintenance services to optimize operational efficiency and extend engine lifespan.
This deal enhances Vietjet’s operational efficiency, reduces emissions, and delivers modern, safe, and comfortable services to passengers. It also creates jobs in the UK, drives innovation in aviation technology, and strengthens economic and investment ties between Vietnam, the UK, and Europe.
