On October 30, 2025, Vietjet and Rolls-Royce signed a landmark agreement for 92 Trent 7000 engines, including a comprehensive maintenance service package valued at $3.8 billion. The official signing ceremony was witnessed by General Secretary To Lam, Vietnamese leaders, and Mr. Matt Western, the UK Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy, during the Vietnam-UK High-Level Economic Conference.

This event took place during General Secretary To Lam’s historic visit to the United Kingdom, marking the elevation of bilateral relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. This milestone opens a new era of deep cooperation in aviation, technology, and investment.

The advanced Trent 7000 engines will power Vietjet’s fleet of 40 A330neo aircraft, enabling direct flights to Europe. Alongside the engine purchase, Vietjet has opted for comprehensive maintenance services to optimize operational efficiency and extend engine lifespan.
