Since VinFast’s establishment in 2017, Phạm Nhật Vượng has been the company’s primary financial backbone. At the 2024 Annual General Meeting, he emphasized that VinFast is Vingroup’s mission and future, vowing, “I will never let go.” The billionaire also pledged to invest in VinFast until his funds are exhausted.

In late April 2023, he announced a $1 billion donation to VinFast from his personal assets. Vingroup also provided a non-refundable $500 million grant and a $1 billion loan with a maximum term of 5 years.

By November 2024, Vingroup and Phạm Nhật Vượng reaffirmed their financial commitment to VinFast. As CEO and major shareholder, Vượng pledged 50 trillion VND, sourced from personal assets, ensuring no impact on Vingroup or VinFast shareholders.

Vingroup plans to lend VinFast an additional 35 trillion VND by 2026 and convert an existing 80 trillion VND loan into preferred shares with dividend rights.

Vingroup’s Q3/2025 financial report reveals Vượng invested 23 trillion VND in VinFast. From 2023 to Q3/2025, his personal investment totaled 50.167 trillion VND (approx. $1.9 billion).

From November 2024 to May 2025, Vingroup lent VinFast an additional 30.571 trillion VND (approx. $1.2 billion) under the new 35 trillion VND loan commitment, supporting sustained growth.

Proceeds from the Novatech share transfer to Vượng, totaling nearly 40 trillion VND, will further fund VinFast’s development.

As of November 2, Forbes estimates Vượng’s net worth at $18 billion, a fourfold increase from $4.1 billion earlier in 2025. This surge is driven by Vingroup stocks: VIC (+400%), VHM (+150%), and VRE (+100%).

Vượng’s commitment is evident through direct investments totaling tens of trillions of VND into VinFast.

In the first nine months of 2025, VinFast delivered 110,362 electric vehicles globally, a 2.5x increase year-over-year.

VinFast’s electric motorcycle deliveries surged to 234,000 units in nine months, a nearly sixfold increase.
